Andrew Napolitano is a highly successful attorney, judge, and educator. Mr. Napolitano attended Princeton University and Notre Dame Law school. Mr. Napolitano did all of his undergraduate studies at Princeton University and then he went on to receive his J.D. from Notre Dame Law school. Mr. Napolitano is a Newark, New Jersey native. After graduating from law school and passing the bar in New Jersey back in 1975, he started a private practice as a litigator. One of his first teaching jobs was for one year at the Delaware School of Law; this was back in 1980 and ended in 1981. Mr. Napolitano has published and authored nine books on the topics of politics and legalities. He was a New Jersey Supreme Court judge for over eight years, from the late 1980s until the mid-1990s. He taught as a visiting professor at Brooklyn Law School. He was also a trial and legal news analyst for Fox News. So his experience spans many different areas of law & politics.



Napolitano has a few law schools that he considers to stand out in the New York state area. He believes the law schools to be the best in this area are Columbia University School of Law, New York University School of Law, and St. John’s University School of Law.



St. John’s University School of Law: New York City



St. John’s University School of Law is on the list of America’s top 100 law schools. This is a Catholic University and it is a private school. An advantage to attending Saint John’s University School of Law is that the LSAT score required for entrance to the school is lower than most institutions. There are not a lot of students competing to attend the University, so the applications are minimal. This institution only has about 250 law students yearly. The school is expensive to attend and is located in Queens, New York.



New York University School of Law



The New York University School of Law is one of the more prominent law schools in New York and America. The school has a student body of over 1600 students. The school is home-based in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. This is one of the more challenging schools to get into because of its popularity. The school is known to produce the best attorneys because of its extensive and challenging curriculum NYU is a historic school and has been in existence since 1831. If an individual is accepted into NYU, they will be in an elite class of attorneys. The graduates of this school usually always pass the bar and receive some of the highest salaries for new graduate attorneys.



Columbia University School of Law

Columbia University School of Law is possibly the best law school in America. When an individual graduates from this program as an attorney, they get some of the most prestigious job offers that pay incredibly high. Getting accepted into this law school is very competitive. The university is small and private and the average student body is just under three hundred and fifty students. The school is very picky about the students they accept into their program—the reason is that every law student who takes the bar exam passes. Columbia University School of Law has a passing rate above 97%. This is why Andrew Napolitano thinks it is one of the best universities to study law.

Should you Apply Sales Tax as a Social Media Influencer?

The question of whether or not you need to apply sales tax as a social media influencer has been debated for years. Some people say that because the state doesn’t collect it, then you don’t have to either. Others argue that if they were a brick-and-mortar store, they would be required to charge sales tax. So what’s the answer?



Why do social media influencers need to pay attention to how they are taxed?



As a social media influencer, have you ever been asked to mention or review a product? Many companies want their products noted on social media outlets. It is estimated that by 2020 the market for consumer-generated endorsements will top $250 billion annually! That’s why so many people are using this as another way to earn income.



When a company pays an influencer it is considered taxable income. In most cases, they will be responsible for paying the taxes on that money themselves. If companies are not withholding or otherwise reporting this payment as taxable income, then the person being paid does have an obligation to report and pay self-employment tax (15.30%), including Medicare and Social Security.



How the tax law applies specifically to social media influencers



Companies can hire an influencer to take photos at one of their events; however, if that person says anything about the company or its products, that would be considered advertising. When it comes to advertising on social media outlets, most companies do not withhold income taxes from their influencers because they are working for a “discount” (e.g., free product) if paid in this way. But make no mistake; these individuals still need to claim the income and pay taxes on it.



What can you do about it if you’re a social media influencer who’s not paying taxes on your income?



If your tax bill adds up to more than $100,000, you should also consider filing for an automatic six-month extension on your taxes. If you owe more than $50,000 in back taxes and don’t file for this extension, the IRS can immediately seize funds from any bank account they know about (including joint accounts). This can result in your bank account being frozen, which will not only cause a huge inconvenience but can damage your credit as well.



Pros and cons of applying sales tax as a social media influencer



As with most things, there are benefits and downsides to the practice. The biggest upside is that you don’t have to deal with sending in quarterly payments or keeping up on your tax filings all year long. However, some influencers who opt not to pay sales taxes end up owing many back taxes when they finally do file their annual return. For more help understanding sales tax nexus, click here.



On the other hand, some influencers have found that by paying sales tax on their income, they are more transparent with consumers who may feel deceived if they see a product review without it. Paying taxes will also help develop trust between you and your audience, vital to establishing yourself as an authority in your space. Ultimately, this is a personal decision that only you can make for yourself.



In conclusion, social media influencers have to pay attention to how they are taxed. If you’re being paid for a product endorsement, then it’s taxable income and must be reported on your tax return each year. Make sure you follow the rules, and you won’t have any trouble with the IRS.

Live-Action Video vs. Animated Video An Interview with Sheryl Chung from Explainer Videoly

The battle between live-action explainer videos and animated explainer videos has been a matter of hot debate for as long as we know. Where some dont get tired of counting the goodies of live-action others strongly support the use of animated explainers in digital and social media marketing. Of course both relying on the ancient argument of entertainment engagement persuasiveness and educating as the pillars of effective marketing. But the deeper we dive into the argument the more we understand that there in fact is no definite winner when compared. So the answer is clear both have their pros and cons subject to the situation and targeted audience. But is it all that there is to this comparison? Moreover is there a way to find a middle ground to settle this argument? To answer this we had an interview with Sheryl Chung Managing Director at the award-winning animation company called Explainer Videoly Pte. Ltd. (a.k.a Kasra Design). We hope the answers help you settle down on the ideal type per your audience and business requirements. So lets listen to what she had to say: What are live action explainer videos? A live action explainer video consists of actual shot footage with or without the inclusion of any animated entities. It consists of characters played by actors with a story that usually revolves around a service or product what it does its major features and how a consumer can benefit from it. Perhaps we can call it the pioneer of explainers as it has been there long before animation dominated the market. The tone and theme are usually entertaining to enhance engagement with exciting visuals complementing the whole purpose. Although there are many visual limitations when we talk about this medium not to mention the expenses it nevertheless continues to be a successful marketing tool; thanks to the added; actual human emotions. The extent of relatedness towards the audience and versatility is immense which enables it to address them at a deeper more personal level. What are animated explainer videos? It is more of an educational medium of explainer videos that emphasize brand and product awareness with the help of sequentially arranged images that produce an illusion of movements. It can be either 3D animated video 2D animated video typographic or even whiteboard animation. Although its not always as emotional as its live-action counterpart due to lack of the key psychological aspect; the touch of human expressions but it would be criminal to call them less entertaining and touching. Who doesnt like a full-on package that breaks down a complex topic in a minute or a half? You just need some skilled hands to make it work. From my hands-on experience in the industry people are moving more and more towards convenience. And thanks to this transition they prefer more educational content that provides them value and is amusing at the same time. With an animated video theres a balance between both. Creative freedom is as far as your imagination and the possibilities are limitless. This gives you the ability to craft an equally intriguing educational and persuasive piece. Businesses are usually torn between live-action and animated explainer video. What are the criteria to consider when making a decision between the two? I would say that depends on the type of product or service you are advertising. For example if you sell a product or service that is relatively simple and doesnt have that distinguishing explanatory factor setting it aside from the competition its best to rely on a live-action video. Thats because in such cases reviving the emotions and empathy of the audience is your most powerful or perhaps the only tool at least the research and results say that. It doesnt mean that your product is bad or isnt unique enough. Its just the countless similar products bombarded towards the user that holds them from pursuing yours. They wont know if you have anything good to offer until they try it and touching them emotionally will just do the trick. On the other hand if we look at animated explainer videos its a viable option if you want to break down abstract ideas or products in simple comprehensible and short steps. They are usually used when you bring something new to the market something that your target audience has never been familiar with before. It can be a plumbing service with new terms or a product that operates a bit differently. Or perhaps you just want to educate your office staff on the new office regulations. Dont get me wrong; they are equally entertaining for the right audience. However It would work best if directed towards the audience genuinely interested in a product or service and eager to know more before pursuing it. Landing pages websites blogs are the best places to target here! What are the Pros and Cons of both types from your experience? Do you think people should be more considerate of their options? Definitely! As I mentioned there are places where you shouldand should not use the two types. Both types have their limitations and where one might fit the strategy perfectly the other might not. In other words where a certain aspect of live-action or animation can be beneficial in some places it can be rather detrimental in others. For example lets say you have a great budget but a not-so-complex product; you can most certainly rely on live action. The reason is apparent; you must trigger your prospects most instinctual psychological desires to pass on a persuasive message. And you can only achieve this if your medium integrates real human emotions. Now heres the thing its unbelievably effective in a certain way but not so much when sharing an abstract idea where attention to detail and quickness is the key. Plus once the production completes editing in the future will be more costly so thats another disadvantage at hand. Now when we look at animated explainers they are quite the opposite. They are devoid of any human emotions but effectively break down the highly complex subjects easily. Plus you can easily make changes to them as per your needs anytime you want. But they take more time in creation and wont work if you are on tight schedules. Moreover the extent of emotional connection is somehow weak; its entirely educational. You just need to keep your priorities straight before choosing between both. What is the budget difference between animation and live-action? When we compare a high-quality live action explainer with an animation the live action is more likely to cost more. There you have to deal with actors location make up team camera crew and many extra things depending on your video concept which bring the price higher and higher. Animation based explainers give you an advantage in this regard; you get the whole package in a single quote. And you wont have to change everything if you decide to make some alterations in the future. So budget-wise the animation is great. Conclusion The grudge between live-action and animation explainer video doesnt seem to be settling soon. Given that both have their perks subject to the needs of a business there is no exact winner or loser. Simple Ways to Reduce Back & Neck Pain When Working From Home

If you’re one of the millions of Americans working through back and neck pain, you should know that there are plenty of proactive steps you can take to reduce discomfort and even prevent future issues. It’s simply a matter of taking action.



4 Pain-Reducing Tactics That Work



When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, millions of American workers found themselves working from home for the first time. And while some have returned to the office, many are continuing to work from home indefinitely. In fact, the work from home movement (which was already well underway prior to 2020) is expected to continue growing over the next decade.



For all of the benefits that working from home offers, the reality is that most people aren’t adequately prepared to do so. They were thrown into the situation without much preparation. Unfortunately, this has created a number of issues with focus, productivity, and even physical health.



Most people aren’t accustomed to working out of a home office. As a result, doctors and chiropractors are reporting an abnormally high number of complaints when it comes to back and neck pain.



Sometimes back and neck pain requires surgical intervention or some other form of medical assistance. But in many cases, it’s possible to reduce or eliminate neck pain with a few simple tweaks to your workspace and daily work habits.



With this in mind, here are some suggestions that could help.



Ensure Proper Support



When sitting down in your office chair, you need to ensure your lower back is properly supported. If you’re experiencing pain or discomfort in this region, it’s possible that you aren’t getting the support you need.



The best option is to get a new chair that provides the necessary support. If you need a quick/temporary fix, roll up a sweatshirt or towel into a log shape. Place it in the small of your back between you and the chair. This will force you to sit up straighter, which will lessen the amount of pressure on your lower back.



Change Up Posture



Sitting down for long periods of time is not good for your health. Not only does it hurt circulation and blood flow, but it also puts unnecessary pressure on your back and spinal column.



“Your lumbar discs are subjected to 1.5 to 2 times the force they would be in a standing position,” Dr. Daniel Riew writes. “Also, a lot of people, when they are seated, tend to place their neck in a forward-leaning position with their chin protruding forward. When they stand up and place the monitor at eye level, they are less likely to do that.”



The key to reducing pressure on your back and staying healthy is to frequently change up your posture from sitting to standing. You can do this with a quality standing desk from a company like BTOD.com. Their Facebook page has pictures of different ways customers use standing desks in their home offices.



Take Regular Breaks



When you work in a traditional office, you get more movement than you realize. Simple things like walking from the parking lot to the building or from your office desk to the bathroom/breakroom add up. But when you work from home, you may only get a few hundred steps in all day. That needs to change!



Too much sedentary activity will catch up to you (regardless of whether you’re standing or sitting). Make it a point to take regular breaks throughout the day. If you live in a house, take a walk around the block. If you’re in an apartment, try climbing a few flights of stairs.



Eat Well



Did you know that the food you eat may impact your level of back and neck pain? It’s true! And if you want to beat back pain, you need to optimize your diet to reduce processed foods and increase the number of anti-inflammatory ingredients you put into your body.



For best results, consume a diet that’s high in berries, fatty fish, broccoli, avocados, green tea, peppers, mushrooms, grapes, tomatoes, and cherries.



Move Past Pain



Back and neck pain can be so debilitating that they impact your focus and productivity. Thus if you want to be the most successful version of yourself that you can possibly be, you need to find a way to move past pain and get healthy. In the past, communication with those who were ill, especially during a pandemic, required personal contact. Nowadays, says Dr Ryan Shelton, the range of social media platforms has become limitless and has been used to help healthcare workers communicate more efficiently with their patients through various methods.



There are many examples on social media platforms where healthcare providers have used them to diagnose possible diseases quickly. For example, Dr. Neha Mehta of Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center diagnosed a patient using nothing but what he saw from a simple selfie posted on Facebook.
